Agia
Marina
Agia Marina is the nicest tourist resort of
the island. The name of Agia Marina comes from the small chapel
of Agia Marina which is found at the end of the beach. The
geographical location of the resort is ideal. its successful
development of tourism is due to natural beauty, the lovely
forests surrounding it.
To the right of the small port there is a wide sandy beach
for those who have children or prefer shallow water.
On the left of the port there are rocky formations ideal for
diving and underwater swimming. Start ing from Agia Marina,
there are lovely forest
walks either through the existing roads of following the new
fire safe areas. Social life in the resort is concentrated
around the main commercial street (full of shops and restaurants)
and the little vertical roads which go down the beach. Agia
Marina is full of restaurants, coffee-bars and discos. There
are also many traditional craft ware and popular art shops.
The resort is also extremely busy at night right through the
season. On the beach the visitor will find all sorts of entertainment.

Afea
The temple of Afea lies on the road from Ag.
Marina to Aegina. It is 2 km.
from Agia Marina and 12 km. from the town of Aegina. South
of the
temple are pine forests which slope to the bay of Agia Marina,
while to the north, there is a wonderful view of the coast
of Attica, the Corinth Canal and Cape Sounio. Across the sea,
on the opposite coast lies the Parthenon...
